Myself and our ortho team are really excited about caring for our patients on the brand-new orthopedics floor in the new tower. It is state-of-the-art and allows us to provide better care to our patients who have received orthopedic surgery. We love it!

I absolutely love my job working as a nurse on the orthopedics unit here at Southwell. Providing care to our community has always been a passion of mine. Working on the orthopedics unit has helped me gain a variety of knowledge and skills that continue to contribute to my growth as a nurse. Southwell Nurse Residency Program

Southwell currently offers the nurse residency program twice a year in April and September. Any new graduate nurses with less than one year of nursing experience, automatically are enrolled into the program. Nurse residents meet monthly for continuing education sessions that are focused on enhancing clinical reasoning skills and the application of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.

EVS Techs perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, waiting areas, and other assigned areas in and out of the hospital.

Nurse Extern Program

Hands on experience in a supportive clinical environment

Southwell’s nurse extern program is designed to provide nursing students an opportunity to work and learn in dynamic and supportive clinical environments while building upon self-confidence and critical thinking skills. Externs will work as Patient Care Techs and participate in monthly observational experiences in various departments.
